Support Voting and Fair Elections in Florida

1) Call your County’s Supervisor of Elections to check your voter registration status and verify that everything is correct.  (Also, encourage those in your network to do the same.)

2) Consider serving as a Poll Worker this election year.  You will be paid, and it’s an incredible way to support the election process.  Also, it gives you a lot of confidence in how things are actually being run. 

3) If you would like to do Election Protection work (i.e., monitor polling places to make sure voters are being well served, attend canvassing board meetings, report issues to the appropriate place, etc.), join the League of Women Voters and get involved.  LWV will be working with Common Cause and other partners to provide ongoing Election Protection training throughout the summer/fall, and we are looking for more volunteers.

4) If you would like to help folks get ID and/or documentary proof of citizenship for voting, reach out to Vote Riders.  They can train you to conduct ID clinics in your community.

5) Contact your Congresspeople to oppose the SAVE and SAVE America Acts.

6) Use this toolkit to oppose mid-cycle redistricting in Florida.  

7) Invite your County’s Supervisor of Elections to talk to your group, or schedule a meeting in their office, and ask about elections-related concerns as well as what their office is doing to prevent/mitigate issues this fall.  

8) Sign up to be an advocate for the National Task Force on Election Crises.  You will get helpful, accurate information and talking points to share within your communities about voting and elections.  

9) Join or donate to organizations that are working to support voting & fair elections.  They need your time, talent, AND treasure!
